Virgin Substrate
Premium paperboard grades manufactured entirely from fully bleached chemical sulphate wood pulp feature high brightness, superior strength, and smooth surface characteristics for luxury folding packaging applications. Multi-ply paper machines construct solid bleached sulphate board by layering refined hardwood and softwood chemical fibers, followed by double or triple clay coating applications on top surfaces. Stated in grams per square metre or caliper points, the substrate provides high stiffness, clean edge appearance, and high-fidelity printability.
The material governs high-end pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food packaging, ceasing to define structures containing unbleached fibers or recycled post-consumer waste pulps.
Structural Performance
Hardwood fibers in the top ply create a smooth dense surface layer ideal for high-resolution offset printing, foil stamping, and gloss coating. Long softwood fibers in internal plies impart tensile strength, tear resistance, and high creasing performance without score line cracking during folding. Chemical pulping removes lignin completely, preventing sheet yellowing or strength loss upon exposure to light and elevated ambient temperatures.
Clean white cut edges enhance premium visual appeal in pharmaceutical cartons and luxury gift packaging. Pinhole-free clay coatings prevent varnish sinkage, maintaining high gloss levels across printed carton panels.
Purity Standard
Taint and odor neutrality make this virgin substrate ideal for direct contact with dry and fatty food products. Low trace contaminant levels prevent migration of mineral oils into packaged consumer food items.
